Former Dormaahemaa Speaks on Kofi Adoma’s Shooting, Explains Dormaahene’s Silence

A former Queenmother of Dormaa, Nana Akosua Frimpomaa Sarpong Kumankumah, has spoken about the shooting incident involving journalist Kofi Adoma Nwanwani.

In a recent video, she expressed her sympathy for Kofi Adoma and his family, calling the December 2024 attack unfortunate. She admitted that the incident left her deeply affected, even causing her to lose her appetite for days after seeing distressing footage online.

Dormaahene’s Silence Explained

During her media engagement, Nana Akosua addressed concerns about the silence of Dormaahene Osaagyefo Oseadeeyo Nana Agyemang Badu II regarding the attack. She explained that traditional leadership follows structured protocols in handling matters, and the Dormaahene was not expected to intervene immediately.

According to her, a subchief was assigned to handle Kofi Adoma’s case. However, the subchief tragically passed away shortly after taking on the responsibility, delaying further action from the Dormaahene.

Call for Better Healthcare in Ghana

Beyond the attack, Nana Akosua highlighted the poor healthcare infrastructure in Ghana. She noted that Kofi’s condition could have been better managed if the country had more efficient emergency healthcare services. She urged the government to invest in better medical facilities, emphasizing that every Ghanaian deserves quality healthcare.

The attack on Kofi Adoma remains a serious concern, and many hope that justice will be served while calls for improved security and healthcare continue to grow.
