Midnight Murder Shakes Madina As Mobile Money Vendor Tracked and Killed

Armed robbers murdered mobile money vendor at his Madina residence Saturday midnight. The criminals escaped with GHC 200,000 (Ghanaian Cedis) after following him from his workplace.

Police reports confirm the deceased, identified as Junior Mensah, closed his shop at 8 PM. He completed numerous high-value transactions during his final business day.

Three suspicious men monitored the vendor’s activities throughout Saturday afternoon. The group shadowed Junior discreetly while he journeyed home with his daily earnings.

Surveillance cameras captured the suspects entering Junior’s compound at 11:45 PM. The footage shows them fleeing through the back gate shortly after midnight.

“Something felt wrong when Junior rushed inside without our usual evening chat,” said watchman Kofi Addo. The security guard discovered the body during his morning rounds.

Detective Inspector Sarah Owusu heads the investigation team. She confirmed the police recovered crucial evidence from the crime scene.

Officers located an abandoned vehicle two streets from the murder scene. The car matched witness descriptions of the getaway vehicle.

Preliminary forensic findings suggest the attackers knew the premises layout. The assessment indicates the criminals studied their target’s routine.

Police spokesperson DSP James Mensah announced a regional security alert. Law enforcement established checkpoints across Greater Accra’s major exits.

The murder weapon remains missing from the crime scene. Officers discovered signs of forced entry through the kitchen window.

Family members identified Junior’s body at the police hospital morgue. Medical examiners scheduled the autopsy for Monday morning.

Investigators interviewed neighboring business owners about suspicious activities. The police gathered security footage from surrounding buildings.

The Regional Police Command deployed additional patrols around Madina. Officers maintain an active presence while pursuing several leads.
