You are a disgrace for not telling Ghanaians the truth about the state of the country—Captain Smart

According to Ghanaweb report, Renowned Ghanaian journalist and social commentator, Captain Smart, has once again stirred up controversy with his unfiltered and bold comments, taking aim at government leaders he believes are misleading Ghanaians about the nation’s pressing socio-economic issues.

Speaking candidly on his popular media program, Captain Smart expressed his frustration with how some leaders downplay or sugarcoat the challenges facing Ghana. Rather than tackling the root causes of the country’s problems, he accused these leaders of relying on political rhetoric that leaves ordinary citizens to suffer the consequences of poor governance.

“You are a disgrace for not telling Ghanaians the truth about the state of the country. Leadership is not about deceiving the people. It’s about being honest, even if the truth is painful,” Captain Smart declared passionately. He emphasized that the current state of the nation calls for bold decisions, transparency, and open discussions, rather than hiding behind propaganda.

One of the major concerns Captain Smart highlighted was the rising cost of living, which he believes is worsening the financial burden on many Ghanaians. He also pointed to unemployment and the ongoing depreciation of the Ghanaian cedi as major issues that are not being properly addressed by those in power. According to Smart, the lack of transparency and accountability is eroding public trust, fueling frustration among citizens who are demanding real solutions.

The outspoken commentator urged both the government and Ghanaians to focus on the nation’s best interests, rather than prioritizing personal or political gains. He called for citizens to hold their leaders accountable, stressing that the power to demand change lies with the people. “The power lies with the people. If you don’t demand the truth, they will keep feeding you lies,” he warned.
