Speaking on Onua TV’s maakye morning show on Thursday, February 13, 2025, popular TV host and media personality, Captain Smart sends a question to the NPP leaders. This follows a recent claim by some NPP leaders that Ken Ofori-Atta is not the head of a bank he owns. However, during his tenure, all loans Ghana borrowed were transferred to the accounts of Ghana through his bank, Captain Smart says. Captain Smart also states that, $13.5 billion in bonds were borrowed through Ken Ofori-Atta’s bank during the NPP tenure of government for Ghana when he served as the finance minister of Ghana.
‘How dare you(NPP leaders) claim the bank is not his after borrowing $13.5 billion through his bank? The bank Ken Ofori-Atta used to receive loans and bonds borrowed belongs to him even if you claim he is not part of the board of directors. Ghanaians did not understand why the money was not being used for development. In order to purge Ken Ofori-Atta of all charges against him, you are telling Ghanaians that the bank which he owns under his name does not belong to him because he is not part of the sitting board of the bank due to his then position as a finance minister’, Captain Smart tells NPP leaders.
Captain Smart also made mention that, all NPP leaders cannot deny the fact that $13.5 billion were borrowed through Ken Ofori-Atta’s bank and the evidence was always around.
