Anloga, (V/R), Feb 10, GNA – The Keta and Anloga Youth Parliament has officially announced the end of its current term, signaling the beginning of a new chapter for the youth of the Keta and Anloga Municipality.

In a press release issued by Mr Emmanuel Gameli Dovia, the Publicity Committee Chairman on Monday morning said the Parliament is now calling for interested individuals to register for the upcoming term and actively participate in shaping the future of their community and nation.

In the statement, Prospective youth leaders from across the two Districts are invited to register with the National Youth Authority Secretariat at the Keta Municipal Assembly, to express their interest in joining the next Keta Youth Parliament.

The Keta/Anloga Youth Parliament serves as a crucial platform for young people to engage in the democratic process, develop leadership skills, and actively contribute to discussions on national issues. Members of the parliament participate in mock parliamentary sessions, where they can practice decision-making processes and engage in non-partisan debates.

“The initiative is also aimed at empowering the youth to take an active role in shaping their futures and communities, encouraging participation in the democratic process to foster greater political engagement among the youth,” the statement said

The current leadership of the Keta Youth Parliament, under the guidance of Mr Francis Susuawu, Keta Municipal Youth Director is urging youth groups and individual leaders to register or renew their participation with the National Youth Authority office.

This is seen as an opportunity to take full advantage of the initiatives under the newly established Ministry for Youth Development, which is focused on fostering youth-led progress across the country.

In particular, the Youth Parliament is calling for greater female participation, encouraging young women to join the platform and contribute their perspectives and leadership skills to national discussions.

Apart from its mandate in proceedings, The Keta Youth Parliament has been instrumental over the period in the area championing the welfare of the youth population in Keta and Anloga area.

The Youth Parliament is an initiative established by the National Youth Authority to provide a single formalised youth structure at the district, regional and national levels for the youth to air their frustrations, deliberate on matters of importance to youth development, and hold duty bearers accountable.
