The Appointments Committee of Parliament has began the vetting of Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, the Minister-designate for Health, as part of the government’s ongoing ministerial approval process.
A seasoned legislator and former Ranking Member on Parliament’s Health Committee, Mr. Akandoh is expected to face thorough scrutiny on key healthcare issues, including the state of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), the condition of medical facilities, and the welfare of healthcare professionals.
The vetting, however, began without the initial presence of the minority.
