"Politics Is Not a Church" – NIA Boss Tells NDC MPs Amid Parliamentary Majority Warning

The Executive Secretary of the National Identification Authority (NIA), has sent a stern warning to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Members of Parliament, urging them to make good use of the majority they currently hold in Parliament as per reports from MyNewsGH on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.

He stated that Ghanaians entrusted them with this significant advantage for a reason and stressed that failing to capitalize on it would come with severe consequences.

In a recent social media post, the NIA boss highlighted the importance of maintaining this opportunity, stating, “We must not jeopardize this significant opportunity, as it may have serious repercussions for us in 2028.”

His message was clear: any misuse of the parliamentary majority could cost the NDC dearly in the next general elections.

He further drew attention to the achievements of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), referencing how they passed the controversial E-Levy with only 137 seats in Parliament.

“Just imagine NPP having this opportunity,” he stated, suggesting that the NDC should seize this moment to enact change and secure its future political standing.

The NIA official’s remarks show the high stakes of parliamentary influence, urging the NDC to avoid complacency. In his final thoughts, he reminded the party that politics is far from a religious calling.

“Politics is not a church,” he declared, revealing the competitive nature of political power.

With the 2028 elections looming, the call to action was clear: maximize the parliamentary advantage or face the consequences at the polls.
