The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a stern directive ordering all individuals and entities engaged in illegal mining, commonly known as galamsey, and other unauthorized operations in water bodies to cease all activities immediately.In a statement, the agency cited Sections 2 and 3b(ii) of the Environmental Protection Act, 2025 (Act 1124) as the legal basis for the order.
