The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has launched the “Rebuilding Our Base” tour, beginning with an engagement session involving TESCON executives and pro-NPP student leaders at the University of Ghana.
The initiative seeks to reconnect the party with its grassroots supporters and address challenges following recent electoral setbacks.
Speaking to national officers, student leaders, and TESCON executives, Justin Kodua Frimpong emphasized the need for proactive steps beyond the recommendations of the Oquaye Committee, which was formed to evaluate the party’s electoral performance.
He highlighted the NPP’s deep historical roots, tracing its lineage to key political groups such as the UGCC, NLM, UP, PP, and PFP, which played pivotal roles in the party’s formation and development.
Kodua stressed that revitalizing the party demands acknowledging and reconnecting with these foundational elements to strengthen its support base.
