“Stop looking for help from the government” – Richie to creatives

Ghanaian record producer and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lynx Group, Richie Mensah, has proffered advice to his fellow entertainers in a recent interview on Daybreak Hitz with DJ Slim.

Richie Mensah on the show advocated for hard work over complaints, urging artistes to take control of their careers and financial futures.

He further noted that it is better for creatives to take charge of their careers than repose their hope in government.

“Stop looking for help from the government. Do it yourself! When we entertainers start doing things properly, stop swerving taxes, and begin generating substantial income, the government will have no choice but to take notice. We need to stop thinking we’re special and that we need to be chosen,” he said.

Richie’s message is underscored by his company’s launch of a new music distribution platform, a move aimed at empowering artistes.

He explained, “we’ve semi-launched a music distribution platform to empower people to be creatives.”

This initiative directly addresses the challenges many artistes face in navigating the complexities of the music industry. This platform promises to simplify the process and maximize opportunities for Ghanaian musicians. The email address for this platform is Email [email protected].

Mensah’s bold statement is a call for a shift in mindset within the Ghanaian entertainment industry, promoting self-sufficiency and proactive entrepreneurship over dependence on external support.
