Anthony Kwasi Sarpong has been appointed as GRA’s Commisioner-General
Anthony Kwasi Sarpong has been appointed to lead the Ghana Revenue Authority as acting Commissioner-General.
His appointment comes barely hours after the resignation of the former Commissioner-General of the Authority, Julie Essiam on January 20, 2025.
The appointment letter read,”His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of Ghana in accordance with Article 195(1) of the Constitution and Section 13(1) of the Ghana Revenue Act, 2009 (Act 791) has appointed you as the acting Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority pending receipt of the constitutionally required advice of the governing Board, given in consultation with the Public Services Commission.”
Signed by the Secretary to the President, Callistus Mahama, the letter noted that the appointment takes effect on January 21, 2025.
He is however expected to indicate his acceptance or otherwise of the appointment within fourteen days of receipt of the letter.
