The vetting comitte of parliament will continue the vetting of ministerial nominees after vetting the first batch of nominees on the 13th of January 2025 that were put forward by President John Dramani Mahama. WATCH HERE
The three ministers-designate are Honourable Haruna Iddrisu, who is the Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Honourable Kwame Governs Agbodza who is the Member of Parliament for Adaklu and Honourable Eric Opoku who is the Member of Parliament for Asunafo South
Hon Haruna Iddrisu has been nominated as Minister for education, Hon. Kwame Agbodza has been nominated as minister-designate for Roads and Highways and Honourable Eric Opoku who has been nominated as Minister-designate for Food and Agriculture are expected to outline their vision and their plans as they face parliament today.
The three nominees have had the opportunity to serve in various leadership roles under the first administration of His Excellency John Mahama and will now serve in these high roles as substantive ministers if confirmed by Parliament. Without a doubt, the three key appointees are expected to drive the reset agenda promised by John Mahama. The vetting of the ministers is being expedited to ensure that the operations and vision of the government go on smoothly as required according to close sources.
The first vetting which happened a week ago was characterized by drama, hot exchanges, interesting questions and answers. The Committee Chairman, Bernard Ahiafor together with the other hardworking members have demonstrated commitment in the exercise. It is expected that today’s event will go on smoothly and nothing else will be expected from both sides of the house but the best.
