The Holy Ghost Temple of the Assemblies of God Church at Odorkor Busia, Accra, was filled with sorrowful moments as veteran gospel singer Hannah Marfo bid a final farewell to her 23-year-old daughter, Mildred Akosua Dwira Dwomoh.
The funeral service, held on Friday, January 17, 2025, drew family, friends, sympathizers, and notable personalities from Ghana’s gospel music industry.
Dressed in solemn white attire, Hannah Marfo and her family were visibly emotional as they paid their last respects to their beloved daughter. The heartbreaking moment came when the grieving mother, supported by her husband, son and family, filed past the casket, unable to hold back her tears.
Overcome with grief, Hannah Marfo broke down as she said her final goodbye inside the church before her daughter’s body was transported to the cemetery for burial.
One of her sons, standing as a pillar of strength, consoled the legendary gospel musician as they returned to their seats for the conclusion of the service.
The event saw an outpouring of support from the gospel music fraternity, with prominent figures such as Mary Gansah, Cindy Thompson, Obaapa Christy, Abaawa Connie, and Akosua Agyapong in attendance. Media mogul Fadda Dickson was also present, adding his support to the grieving family.
Fellow gospel artists and fans continue to offer their condolences and prayers for Hannah Marfo and her family during this difficult time.
