Embrace unity and accountability in 2026

The Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Ahmed Ibrahim, has urged Ghanaians to embrace unity, accountability and national renewal as the country enters 2026.

In a New Year message issued on January 1, the Minister described the period as an opportunity for reflection, calling on both citizens and leaders to recommit to values that promote peace, humility and national development.

He said the government’s Reset Agenda is anchored on fiscal discipline, accountability and inclusive growth, stressing the importance of collaboration with religious leaders, traditional authorities and other stakeholders at the local level.

Ahmed Ibrahim assured that his Ministry remains committed to ensuring that development programmes reach every district and traditional area across the country.

Expressing optimism about the year ahead, he said 2026 offers an opportunity for renewed purpose and progress, and encouraged Ghanaians to work together towards national prosperity.
