Abdul Issifu, the counsel representing a group of police officers, has explained the core issue during a recent interview.<\/p>\n He clarified in an interview on GHOne that the officers are in court to challenge what they consider an illegal transfer process and to ensure that the constitutional and police service regulations are respected in matters of personnel movement.<\/p>\n \u201cThe reason why we are in court is to challenge an illegal transfer and to ensure that the constitutional and police service regulations are respected when it comes to movement and allocation of tasks,\u201d Issifu said.<\/p>\n At the center of the legal dispute is the claim that the transfers were carried out without the approval of the National Transfer Board, as stipulated by Police Service Regulation 38.<\/p>\n According to the regulation, any transfer must be validated by the National Transfer Board, which should consist of senior police officers, including the Director of CID and Director of Welfare.<\/p>\n However, Issifu pointed out that it is IGP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare who has assumed the authority to carry out these transfers on his own.<\/p>\n \u201cThe transfer board is supposed to comprise senior officers from various divisions, but that is not the case.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is the IGP, Dan Parikh, who has allocated to himself the power to make these transfers,\u201d Issifu explained, raising concerns about the legality of the process.<\/p>\n Watch some videos from the recent Parliamentary sittings below:<\/b><\/p>\n![\"IGP,](\"https:\/\/cdn.ghanaweb.com\/imagelib\/pics\/165\/16519216.295.jpg\" "\\"IGP,")
