{"id":272777,"date":"2024-12-30T10:12:45","date_gmt":"2024-12-30T10:12:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/12\/30\/mahama-ruto-to-strengthen-ties-in-intra-africa-trade\/"},"modified":"2024-12-30T10:12:45","modified_gmt":"2024-12-30T10:12:45","slug":"mahama-ruto-to-strengthen-ties-in-intra-africa-trade","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/12\/30\/mahama-ruto-to-strengthen-ties-in-intra-africa-trade\/","title":{"rendered":"Mahama, Ruto to strengthen ties in intra-Africa trade\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>By Iddi Yire\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Accra, Dec 30, GNA \u2013 President-elect John Dramani Mahama has held discussions with Kenyan President William Ruto in Kilgoris, Narok County, Kenya on the expansion of intra-African trade under the African Continental Free Trade Area.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This was part of a broader discussion on regional integration efforts when the President-elect visited President Ruto at the weekend.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mr Mahama, in a message on X, said: \u201cIt was a great opportunity to discuss our regional integration efforts, continental security and how we can work collectively to upscale the benefits of the AfCFTA.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a former Chair of the AU high-level committee on Trade, I remain committed to expanding trade among our countries under the aegis of the AfCFTA.
