The New Patriotic Party\u2019s (NPP) Director of Legal Affairs, Gary Nimako Marfo has said the Supreme Court\u2019s annulment of results from four constituencies in the 2024 election does not create any significant change.<\/p>\n

Addressing journalists in court on Friday, Mr Nimako also reassured NPP supporters that there is no cause for alarm.<\/p>\n

\u201cNothing has changed. The Supreme Court\u2019s decision only ensures procedural fairness. We\u2019ll return to the High Court on Tuesday to continue the process. This is not a loss for us. It\u2019s simply part of the legal process. We are confident the High Court will make the necessary order for collation and declaration,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Mr Nimako who is also the lawyer for the embattled NPP MPs-elect is confident the party will return to court on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, and secure victory.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe court said these four constituencies should go back to the High Court. This is to allow the NDC to file their response and for the court to issue another order for the Electoral Commission (EC) to proceed with collation and declaration,\u201d Mr Nimako explained.<\/p>\n

The Supreme Court on Friday annulled re-collated results for Okaikwei Central, Tema Central, Techiman South, and Ablekuma North.<\/p>\n

The re-collation which took place on Saturday, December 21, 2024, was in line with a High Court Order which directed the Electoral Commission(EC) to carry out the exercise.<\/p>\n

However, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) argued that it was not heard during the proceedings leading to that ruling.<\/p>\n

The Apex Court ruled in favour of the NDC, directing the High Court to rehear the matter on Tuesday but with a different judge.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
