Asante Kotoko have confirmed the passing of a staunch fan who tragically died after watching the club’s victory over Bibiani Gold Stars on Friday, December 27, 2024.<\/p>\n
According to a statement released by the club, the fan, identified as Nicholas Osei Boakye, passed away in a motor accident on his way home from the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.<\/p>\n
The Reds also expressed their condolences to the family of the deceased, who was 37 years old.<\/p>\n
“We are deeply saddened to learn of the untimely passing of one of our loyal fans, Nicholas Osei Boakye, a 37-year-old resident of Mpasatia, who tragically lost his life in a motor accident near Abuakwa after our GPL Week 15 match against Gold Stars at the Baba Yara Stadium last night.<\/p>\n
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Nick,” the club wrote on X.<\/p>\n
Kotoko secured a victory in the last game Osei Boakye watched, defeating Bibiani Gold Stars 2-0 to climb to second place on the Ghana Premier League table.<\/p>\n
