\n\t\t\t\t\tThe leadership of Parliamentary Committees from the majority caucus is appealing to the National Council of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to retain the current leadership of the majority caucus in the 9th Parliament.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\tThis appeal follows the NPP\u2019s significant defeat in the 2024 General Elections, which will relegate the party to the minority group in the 9th Parliament.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\tAccording to Kwabena Amankwa Asiamah, Chairman of the Education Committee and MP for Fanteakwa North, the current leaders of the majority group should be maintained until the party secures victory in subsequent elections due to their vast experience in parliamentary proceedings.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\t\u201cIt is the decision by chairmen of the committees in parliament to plead to the leadership of our party to maintain the leadership status quo in parliament. Why do we say so? We say this because we are counting on the experience and the nature of parliament that the ninth parliament is going to face now.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\t\u201cOur numbers have dwindled and for that matter, we need a front that is experienced to face the enormity of members on the other side and that we have concluded that it will be beneficial to our caucus in parliament and the party in general and for the good of democracy in Ghana to maintain what we have now.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
