The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has categorically refuted claims circulating in a viral audio recording on social media that suggest improper use of military facilities for transporting ammunition.<\/p>\n
In a press release dated December 25, 2024, the GAF described the allegations as false, calling for the public to disregard the misinformation entirely.<\/p>\n
The viral audio alleged that a civilian pickup truck was allowed entry into the Magazine at the 5 Battalion of Infantry to transport boxes of ammunition to an unspecified destination. But the GAF clarified that the vehicle in question was used to deliver a newly acquired live cow, which was subsequently quarantined before being relocated to the kraal adjacent to the Magazine.<\/p>\n
The statement emphasised the need for individuals and groups to verify information about security services before spreading it online. GAF highlighted the dangers of misinformation, particularly its potential to cause unnecessary tension, fear, and panic among citizens.<\/p>\n
