Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Godfred Yeboah Dame, has urged Ghanaians to revel in the country\u2019s democratic credentials and guard them jealously.<\/p>\n

In an interview with JoyFM on Christmas Day, December 25, 2024, Godfred Dame sent seasonal felicitations to the citizenry.<\/p>\n

The Attorney General appealed to Ghanaians to use the Christmas period to seek God\u2019s intervention in the impasse that has rocked the country following the December 7 elections.<\/p>\n

He hoped that the unity and peace associated with Jesus Christ would manifest in the lives of every Ghanaian and culminate in peace and unity across the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt Christmas, it is my wish that the peace of Christ would indeed permeate every home and resonate in the minds and hearts of the people,\u201d Mr. Dame said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI pray that we, as a people, will once again demonstrate our tenacity and responsibility for peace by ensuring that all post-election matters are resolved with balance and in law.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet us ensure that the spirit of Christmas\u2014peace, love, and togetherness\u2014guides our actions in the coming days and beyond,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n

He reminded the country of the importance of peace and tranquillity as the bedrock for the development of the country, admonishing Ghanaians to take pride in the country\u2019s impressive democratic record.<\/p>\n

Godfred Dame noted that Ghanaians demonstrated their commitment to peace during the 2024 elections and that it is imperative that all outstanding issues from the polls are resolved amicably.<\/p>\n

\u201cDemocracy is a gift that many nations are still struggling to achieve. It is a system we have embraced as a way of life, and we should take pride in what we have achieved,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have determined for ourselves a leader for the next four years, and it is essential that we resolve any disputes peacefully to further consolidate our democracy,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
