Joseph Ade Coker, the former Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has attributed the party’s resounding victory in the 2024 general elections to the relentless efforts of President John Dramani Mahama and the arrogance of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as reported by Citinewsroom on Monday, December 23, 2024.<\/p>\n

Mahama, who was re-elected as President, secured over six million votes, comfortably defeating the NPP’s Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who garnered just over four million votes.<\/p>\n

The NDC also won a commanding majority in parliament with more than 180 seats, compared to the NPP’s 80.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Citi FM\u2019s Point of View<\/em> on December 23, Coker lauded Mahama for his extensive campaigning, stating that the former president had traveled across all 276 constituencies in the country multiple times.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe went round the 276 constituencies, 16 regions more than three or four times trying to let the people know his programme for the future,\u201d<\/p>\n

Coker said. This hard work, according to him, was key in connecting with the electorate and ensuring the NDC\u2019s victory.<\/p>\n

Coker also noted the NPP’s disconnect with the people, particularly criticizing the perceived arrogance of its appointees and the worsening economic conditions under their governance.<\/p>\n

He pointed out that the public’s anger over these issues was evident, contributing to the massive support for Mahama and the NDC. “What you saw was the anger of the people,” Coker said, explaining that Ghanaians were eager for change, which Mahama effectively offered.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
