I would say it’s a shame to all of us. I feel like something needs to be done. I think everyone is hurt, and we are not going to feel it that much now.

“When you see the countries arriving for the tournament, and the joy, the happiness that it brings into the country, that’s when the country will start to feel it more. The only thing that can be done is to look into how we can make it into the next one,” Waris commented during an interview with JoySports.

Ghana lost three, drew three, and won none of their six matches played in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.

The team finished bottom of Group F with just three points, while Sudan and Angola qualified from the group.

It marks the first time in 20 years that the Black Stars have not qualified for the AFCON.

Watch Majeed Waris’ interview below:

“It’s a shame to all of us, and I think something needs to be done.”

– Former Black Stars forward Majeed Waris on Ghana’s disastrous AFCON qualifiers#JoySports pic.twitter.com/KlIIEI4RkY

— #JoySports (@JoySportsGH) December 24, 2024

Watch as Nigeria coach applauds his players for securing draw against Ghana

!["Ghanaian]("https://cdn.ghanaweb.com/imagelib/pics/139/13917758.295.jpg" ""Ghanaian")
