The Member of Parliament-elect for Afram Plains North, Worlase Kpeli, has announced plans to consult his constituents before deciding whether to align with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Parliament.<\/p>\n

Mr Kpeli, who contested the parliamentary seat as an independent candidate after being suspended by the NDC, secured victory in the December elections.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Accra-based Citi FM on Monday, December 23, he emphasized the importance of engaging with the electorate before deciding his parliamentary affiliation ahead of the 9th Parliament\u2019s inauguration on January 7, 2025.<\/p>\n

In July 2024, Kpeli was suspended by the NDC over allegations of misconduct.<\/p>\n

While he contested the decision by running independently, he stated that he respected the party\u2019s choice and remains committed to serving the people of Afram Plains North and advancing their development.<\/p>\n

Mr Kpeli highlighted the complexity of determining his parliamentary alignment, stressing that the decision requires careful thought and consultation with his constituents.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are a lot of things that go into this decision and consultations. There are decisions that one must go through to determine who to do business with, and I will have to consult my people before,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

\u201cLooking through the NDC\u2019s constitution, there is no express clause that goes against me going independent. It is just by convention that we all say it, but expressly, I don\u2019t see any binding clause that forfeits my membership in the National Democratic Congress (NDC),\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
