{"id":269552,"date":"2024-12-22T19:48:51","date_gmt":"2024-12-22T19:48:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/12\/22\/dr-nduom-hopeful-defunct-gn-bank-will-be-restored-under-mahama-administration\/"},"modified":"2024-12-22T19:48:51","modified_gmt":"2024-12-22T19:48:51","slug":"dr-nduom-hopeful-defunct-gn-bank-will-be-restored-under-mahama-administration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/12\/22\/dr-nduom-hopeful-defunct-gn-bank-will-be-restored-under-mahama-administration\/","title":{"rendered":"Dr Nduom hopeful defunct GN bank will be restored under Mahama administration"},"content":{"rendered":"<br><div id=\"article-text\">\n                       \n                        \n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Global Chairman of Groupe Nduom, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, has expressed confidence that the new National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, led by John Dramani Mahama, will work towardx restoring GN Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking at the 30th-anniversary celebration of Coconut Grove Beach Resort in Elmina, one of the flagship businesses of the conglomerate, Dr Nduom shared his optimism about the future of the bank and its potential revival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cGN Bank has always been a people-centered institution, serving communities that many financial institutions overlooked,\u201d Dr Nduom said. \u201cI am hopeful that this new administration will recognize the value we brought to the sector and work with us to restore what was unfairly taken away.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">GN Bank, which was once one of Ghana&#8217;s leading Indigenous banks, was downgraded to a savings and loans company before it finally collapsed following a banking sector cleanup that accused its managers of committing several breaches. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr Nduom believes that a partnership with the incoming administration could pave the way for a turnaround.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe built GN Bank with a mission to empower small businesses and rural communities. Its restoration would not only benefit our customers but also contribute significantly to Ghana\u2019s economic growth,\u201d Dr Nduom emphasized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reflecting on the broader vision of Group Nduome, he added: \u201cOur businesses have faced challenges, but we remain resilient. I am optimistic that with the right leadership and support, we can rise again stronger than before&#8221; he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 30th-anniversary celebration of Coconut Grove Beach Resort was marked by heartfelt speeches, community engagement, and a carols night.
