Mankessim (C\/R), Dec 22, GNA \u2013 Mr Wilberforce Andrews, Human Rights Activist has congratulated Mr John Dramani Mahama, for his resounding victory in the December 2024 election.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0He said the people of Ghana had given him an incredible opportunity for him to reset the country to put smiles on the faces of all and sundry.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0In a Press Release signed by him and copied to the Ghana News Agency at Mankessim, Mr Andrews hoped with Mr Mahama\u2019s skills and experience, the additional four years would enable him to work assiduously to better the lots of the people.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Mr Andrews indicated that the great expectation of Ghanaians was to see his new tenure as President for all, with a new era where businesses would thrive, and the economy grow among other areas to turn the fortunes of Ghana.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0\u201cI believe that you will reverse the tide of negativity that has gripped the country for the past eight years and place the economy on a firm footing by which all will benefit.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is my prayer that the Almighty God will continue to give good health, wisdom, protection, guidance and direction and the zeal to administer good governance without fear or favour for a better Ghana,\u201d he added.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
He urged the incoming administration to hold the outgoing NPP-led government accountable for every pesewa spent during its administration to serve as a deterrent to others when they could be part of governance.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0Mr Andrews called for the review of the mining Act to stop the continuous ecological degradation, destruction, pollution and the contamination of major rivers, streams, and water bodies with harmful chemicals by galamsey activities and to save Ghana from experiencing a pandemic,\u201d he added.\u00a0<\/p>\n
