The National Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has reacted to the re-collation and re-declaration of some parliamentary seats initially won by his party by the Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC).<\/p>\n In a post shared on X on Saturday, December 21, 2024, Sammy Gyamfi urged supporters of the NDC not to be worried about the re-declaration done by the EC.<\/p>\n He said that after January 7, 2025, when President-Elect John Dramani Mahama is sworn into office, the NDC is going to have the \u2018last laugh\u2019.<\/p>\n \u201cComrades, he who laughs last, laughs best. Ignore the \u2018cantata\u2019 exercise dubbed \u2018re-collation\u2019 being carried out by the NPP-sponsored EC. We will have the last laugh after January 7. Chill!\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n His post comes as the Electoral Commission went on with the re-collation or continued collation of the parliamentary election results for nine disputed constituencies.<\/p>\n The initial winners of the parliamentary elections for the nine constituencies in question were either nullified after their declarations or not declared at all by the Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC).<\/p>\n Before the re-collation and re-declaration exercise, the NDC claimed it had acquired a court order that bars the EC from going on with the declaration.<\/p>\n The party has held the position that the electoral laws of the country state that once election results are declared, the only way they can be challenged is in the courts.<\/p>\n They contend the re-collation and re-declaration exercises were illegal.<\/p>\n After the exercises on Saturday, the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidates in seven respective constituencies were declared winners.<\/p>\n Four seats, which were initially declared for the NDC, namely Obuasi East, Okaikwei Central, Tema Central, and Techiman South, were re-declared in favour of the NPP.<\/p>\n The Nsawam Adoagyiri, Ahafo Ano South West, and Ahafo Ano North constituencies, which were initially incomplete, were also declared in favour of the NPP.<\/p>\n Two constituencies – Ablekuma North and Dome Kwabenya – are, however, yet to be determined.<\/p>\n BAI\/AE<\/p>\n Watch a compilation of the latest Twi news below:<\/b><\/p>\n![\"National](\"https:\/\/cdn.ghanaweb.com\/imagelib\/pics\/575\/57501531.295.jpg\" "\\"National")
