He has also stepped down as a board member. Abbey, known for hosting &#8220;Good Morning Ghana,&#8221; has not announced whether he will continue hosting the show.<\/p>\n<p>A farewell ceremony was held in his honor at Metro TV headquarters in Accra, celebrating his contributions to the station and Ghana&#8217;s media landscape. Abbey is also a prominent figure in Ghanaian football, serving on the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association and as president of Kpando Hearts of Lions Football Club.<\/p>\n<p>Abbey has received several recognitions for his work, including the Order of the Volta in 2006 for his outstanding contributions to Ghana&#8217;s media industry. He also received a Grand Medal in 2006 for his role in Ghana&#8217;s successful qualification and participation in the 2006 FIFA World Cup.<\/p>\n<p>Abbey&#8217;s resignation marks the end of an era at Metro TV, where he has been a central figure for many years.
