Ghana\u2019s First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Joseph Osei Owusu, has endorsed Alexander Afenyo-Markin for the position of Minority Leader in the upcoming Ninth Parliament. <\/p>\n Speaking to the media, Osei Owusu emphasised Afenyo-Markin\u2019s exceptional understanding of parliamentary procedures and his deep knowledge of the House\u2019s leadership dynamics. <\/p>\n According to Osei Owusu, Afenyo-Markin\u2019s experience and expertise would be crucial in fostering a unified and strategic approach to counter the anticipated overwhelming Majority of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Parliament. <\/p>\n Osei Owusu drew parallels with Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu\u2019s successful tenure as Minority Leader and Majority Leader, highlighting the importance of longevity and experience in leadership. <\/p>\n He said: \u201c\u2026I strongly believe in longevity and experience from our own actions and inactions. You can tell that when Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu was the Minority Leader and Majority Leader, he stood out very clearly. But it did not happen by accident. <\/p>\n \u201cHe started as a Chief Whip and grew up to become a leader. The longevity brings experience and clarity, so I would not support any request for a new person to be brought into the picture now.
