{"id":268146,"date":"2024-12-19T17:59:23","date_gmt":"2024-12-19T17:59:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/12\/19\/npp-is-for-all-of-us-not-in-someones-pocket-npp-director-of-finance\/"},"modified":"2024-12-19T17:59:23","modified_gmt":"2024-12-19T17:59:23","slug":"npp-is-for-all-of-us-not-in-someones-pocket-npp-director-of-finance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/12\/19\/npp-is-for-all-of-us-not-in-someones-pocket-npp-director-of-finance\/","title":{"rendered":"NPP is for all of us, not in someone\u2019s pocket \u2013 NPP Director of Finance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The Director of Finance and Administration of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), William Yamoah, has responded to critics calling for the \u201ctake back\u201d of the party following its defeat in the 2024 General Elections.<\/p>\n<p>This response follows comments by former Energy Minister and NPP stalwart, Boakye Kyeremateng Agyarko, who called for careful planning as the party considers reforms in the aftermath of its electoral loss.<\/p>\n<p>In his \u201ctaking the party back\u201d statement, Agyarko cautioned against the over-centralization of power within the party, noting that similar reforms in 2009 led to dominance by a single individual.<\/p>\n<p>Reactig to this on Adom FM\u2019s William Yamoah called for all hands on deck.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe party is for all of us and not someone\u2019s private property that can be taken home anytime he or she wants. How do you even justify that the party is someone\u2019s personal property?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cInstead, anyone with new ideas and who believes they can revamp the party\u2019s strength is highly welcome.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Regarding calls by some members to dismiss or force the party leadership to resign, William Yamoah emphasized that this is not the right time for internal disputes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can\u2019t call for the resignation of the party leadership. This is not the first time the party has lost an election, yet no one from the leadership resigned or was sacked. This is not the time for a blame game because this is not a scandal where heads should roll.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He continued, \u201cHowever, I admit that our failure in the recent 2024 General Elections is a huge disappointment, considering the effort we invested in the campaign and the policies we adopted.
