Accra, Dec. 19, GNA \u2013 Delta Air Lines says it has made provision for Ghanaian passengers who desire local dishes on the flight from Accra to John F. Kennedy (JFK) Airport in the United States.\u00a0<\/p>\n

A release from Kingdom Concepts Consult said the service was based on customer feedback and would be enjoyed by passengers travelling during the Christmas holiday.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It said the catering service was in partnership with local chefs and outlets in Ghana to ensure that the food served \u201cmaintains maximum integrity and authenticity.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe design menus with Ghanian influence and some western touches for our customers\u2026We tend to base our design on passport and customer data.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe strive to offer thoughtful, elevated food and flight experiences our customers will remember forever,\u201d Gabriel Palchik, Regional Manager, On Board Service and Menu Development, said.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cPouring into the community is vital to showing an authentic representation of where Delta people live, work and serve.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s why local languages Twi and Ga are also spoken on the JFK-ACC route, ensuring that the service is rooted in the needs and language of the Ghanaian customer,\u201d the statement added.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to the menu, beef, chicken and fish selections are available on direct flights between JFK and Ghana, while chicken and pasta options are available on European routes \u2013 operated by AKFL.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThe meal begins with salad, soup, an appetizer and bread. The main course follows, then completed with a sweet after-dinner chaser: a choice of an ice-cream sundae or cheese cubes.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cCoffee and tea service is also included. Alcoholic beverages, including local beers, are also offered to complement the dining experience,\u201d the company said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It said both \u2018Delta One and Premium\u2019 cabin passengers \u201ccan select their main entrees prior to the flight.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile some options may occasionally be unavailable, there are five choices available for Delta One customers this winter and three for customers in Delta Premium Select,\u201d it added.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On \u2018Delta One\u2019, the list includes, roasted chicken thigh \u2013 moyo sauce, turmeric infused sweet potato puree, medley of carrots and zucchini.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Others are \u2018braised beef \u2013 domoda sauce, steamed rice, roasted root vegetables. Vegetable curry \u2013 biryani rice, fried paneer, chickpeas, coriander.\u2019 It also has \u2018grilled grouper \u2013 vanilla sauce, turmeric infused sweet potato puree, green beans, roasted carrots.\u2019\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cDelta offers another West African dish, Thieboudienne, as part of a sauce accompanying the grilled grouper. The sauce is made with tomato, onions, garlic, ginger, bay leaves and other spices.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cDelta One offers braised beef dish with popular West African tomato-based Domoda sauce, which comes with rice and roasted local vegetables.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cAn alternative is the grilled grouper fillet with jollof rice, green beans and roasted pumpkin, served with Thieboudienne sauce,\u201d the company noted.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On \u2018Delta Premium Select\u2019 the menu has roasted chicken thigh \u2013 moyo sauce, turmeric infused sweet potato puree, medley of carrots and zucchini.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Also available are braised beef \u2013 domoda sauce, steamed rice, roasted root vegetables, Vegetable curry \u2013 biryani rice, fried paneer, chickpeas, coriander. Jollof rice, a staple in Ghana and West Africa.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cMenu changes on Delta are informed by feedback from passengers regarding requests for Ghanaian meals. In the premium cabins, the whole menu changes every six months, with smaller updates every three months,\u201d it said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
