Popular Kumawood actress Christiana Awuni has explained why she supported president-elect John Dramani Mahama in the 2024 elections. <\/p>\n

She has emphasised that her endorsement of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was driven by a desire for positive change in Ghana, not personal gain. <\/p>\n

Speaking on Hitz FM, Christiana Awuni clarified that her backing for the NDC was not about selfish interests. <\/p>\n

“People think we supported the NDC because of selfish reasons, but it is not so. We did this for Ghana,” she said. <\/p>\n

She also said her decision to oppose the Akufo-Addo administration stemmed from unmet promises regarding the challenges facing the film industry. <\/p>\n

She then urged for sustainable solutions to uplift the Creative Arts Industry, which she believes should be treated as a vital sector beyond just entertainment. <\/p>\n

Christiana Awuni was among a number of celebrities, including Mzbel, DKB, Mr. Beautiful, Nero X, and Big Akwes, who publicly supported the NDC in the December 7, 2024 general elections. <\/p>\n
