The PURC, in a statement, described the situation as unacceptable, emphasising that it violates citizens\u2019 fundamental right to clean and safe water.<\/p>\n<p>The Commission cited the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (Consumer Service) Regulations, 2020 (L.I. 2413), which prohibits the denial of utility services without appropriate justification and review. Regulation 4 specifically mandates that utility providers must not interrupt services arbitrarily and must address challenges through proper channels.<\/p>\n<p>The PURC has ordered the Ghana Water Company to submit a detailed report outlining the reasons for the interruption and measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
