Odifour Paul Kwabena, a prominent figure associated with SOMPA FM and a close ally of Ohenene Adazoa, has been dismissed from his position at the station following serious allegations of misconduct. According to reports by THE BBC GHANA on Facebook, Kwabena was accused of attempting to take advantage of a married woman who sought counseling for her troubled marriage on SOMPA FM’s popular show, SOMPA Nkomo.

The incident reportedly unfolded when the woman, in need of guidance, appeared on the show to seek help with her relationship issues. After the show, Kwabena allegedly took the woman’s phone number and began texting her in an inappropriate manner. The nature of the texts reportedly crossed boundaries, leading to accusations that he was attempting to exploit her situation for personal gain.

When the woman’s complaints about Kwabena’s behavior surfaced, it led to swift action by SOMPA FM. The station, which has built a reputation for its engaging community-focused content, acted promptly by terminating Kwabena’s employment. This decision was made after the allegations were investigated, and the station deemed his actions unprofessional and unacceptable.

Kwabena’s actions have sparked controversy and public outcry, as many believe he abused his position of trust and influence. The incident has raised concerns about the ethical standards expected of media personalities and public figures, especially those involved in counseling or advisory roles.

SOMPA FM has not issued an official statement regarding the specifics of the investigation, but the station’s swift response underscores its commitment to maintaining professional standards and addressing misconduct. The station’s management has also made it clear that they will continue to uphold integrity in their programming and staff conduct.

This scandal has captured significant attention, and while some have expressed disappointment, others are applauding the station’s decision to take action against such inappropriate behavior. As the news continues to unfold, many are left questioning the responsibility of public figures and media personnel in protecting the dignity and trust of those they serve.

The firing of Odifour Paul Kwabena serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining ethical conduct, especially for those in positions where they can influence and interact with the public. This incident is expected to continue to stir debate about the professional standards in Ghana’s media industry.
