{"id":266487,"date":"2024-12-16T18:47:16","date_gmt":"2024-12-16T18:47:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/12\/16\/fidelity-bank-honours-outstanding-agents-celebrates-10-years-of-financial-inclusion\/"},"modified":"2024-12-16T18:47:16","modified_gmt":"2024-12-16T18:47:16","slug":"fidelity-bank-honours-outstanding-agents-celebrates-10-years-of-financial-inclusion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/12\/16\/fidelity-bank-honours-outstanding-agents-celebrates-10-years-of-financial-inclusion\/","title":{"rendered":"Fidelity Bank honours outstanding agents, celebrates 10 years of financial inclusion\u00a0\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Accra, Dec.16, GNA \u2013 Fidelity Bank, Ghana\u2019s largest privately-owned indigenous bank, has hosted a dinner and awards ceremony to recognise the contribution of its agency banking network.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The event, held at Wesley Towers in Accra, was the culmination of regional award ceremonies in Tamale, Kumasi and Takoradi to celebrate the pivotal role of agents in providing banking services to the unbanked and underbanked.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A statement copied to Ghana News Agency said the bank saw over GHC two billion in deposits through its agent network and transactions valued at over GHC 20 billion in October, since the start of 2024.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Kwabena Boateng, Deputy Managing Director for Wholesale Banking, reflected on the strides made in financial inclusion over the past decade.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the past, millions of Ghanaians were excluded from financial services. Today, thanks to the remarkable dedication of our agents, we have brought banking into homes, workplaces, and communities,\u201d he stated.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He praised the agents for their commitment to bridging the financial gap in remote and underserved areas, helping Ghanaians access banking services with ease.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Godfred Attafuah, Director of Channels and Sales, lauded the success of Agency Banking, highlighting its positive impact on employment and income generation.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He said Fidelity Bank would prioritize the needs of agents and foster stronger collaborations for the future.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Outstanding agents were awarded at the event.
