President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, has reiterated his commitment to the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy, assuring Ghanaians that the initiative will remain intact under his leadership. <\/p>\n

Addressing concerns about the program\u2019s future, Mahama rejected the NPP\u2019s claims that he intends to abolish the Free SHS policy, describing such statements as “political talk and gimmickry.” <\/p>\n

“Free SHS has come to stay, and it is not going anywhere. Nobody is going to scrap Free SHS,” Mahama emphasised during an interview with Voice of America (VOA). <\/p>\n

While Mahama reaffirmed his support for the program, he acknowledged its challenges, particularly the need for sustainable funding mechanisms to ensure its long-term success. <\/p>\n

“We are going to maintain it. What we will do is secure dedicated funding for it,” he added. <\/p>\n

Mahama\u2019s comments come amid ongoing debates about the program’s long-term viability. <\/p>\n
