{"id":265123,"date":"2024-12-13T16:33:14","date_gmt":"2024-12-13T16:33:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/12\/13\/apaak-condemns-govts-gh%c2%a2118m-indebtedness-to-waec\/"},"modified":"2024-12-13T16:33:14","modified_gmt":"2024-12-13T16:33:14","slug":"apaak-condemns-govts-gh%c2%a2118m-indebtedness-to-waec","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/12\/13\/apaak-condemns-govts-gh%c2%a2118m-indebtedness-to-waec\/","title":{"rendered":"Apaak condemns govt\u2019s GH\u00a2118m indebtedness to WAEC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\tDeputy Ranking Member on the Education Committee in Parliament, Dr. Clement Apaak, has added his voice to calls for the government to settle the GH\u00a2118 million debt it owes the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC), cautioning that such delays have dire consequences.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\tThe outstanding arrears have led to the suspension of the release of the 2024 WASSCE results.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\tWAEC, in a press statement, called on the government to expedite payment to undertake repair works on broken equipment needed for scanning objective cards to subsequently facilitate the release of the results.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\tDr. Apaak, in an interview with Citi News, described the government\u2019s delay as condemnable.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\u201cThe results of our wards who wrote WASSCE earlier this year are being withheld in abeyance because the government is failing to meet its commitment to WAEC.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\u201cIt is condemnable.
