\n\t\t\t\t\tGhanaian musician-turned-politician Kwame Asare Obeng, also known as A Plus, has shared his plans as he prepares to serve as the newly elected Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central. In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, A Plus made it clear that his focus is on serving the people who voted for him, not the creative industry.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\t\u201cI want to make it clear that I\u2019m not going to Parliament to fight for the entertainment industry,\u201d he stated. \u201cMy sole responsibility is to work diligently and deliver results for the people of Gomoa Central, who believed in me and voted massively to put me in this position.\u201d\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\tA Plus pointed out that his electoral victory was rooted in the trust of the people of Gomoa Central, not the backing of the creative industry. He highlighted that no major creative bodies, such as the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) or the Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG), supported him during his campaign.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\t\u201cWhen I was contesting, there wasn\u2019t any collective support from MUSIGA, FIPAG, or any other creative group,\u201d he explained. \u201cIt was just a handful of friends in the industry who stood by me. That\u2019s why I\u2019m focused on the people of Gomoa Central, who put their confidence in me, not the creative industry.\u201d\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\t\u201cPlayers in the creative industry feel too important, even though there are serious challenges they need to address,\u201d he added.\n\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\tDespite his criticism, A Plus praised Shatta Wale for speaking up about the problems in the industry. \u201cShatta Wale has been making a lot of sense.
