{"id":264627,"date":"2024-12-13T00:50:09","date_gmt":"2024-12-13T00:50:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/12\/13\/mahama-should-invest-in-youth-football\/"},"modified":"2024-12-13T00:50:09","modified_gmt":"2024-12-13T00:50:09","slug":"mahama-should-invest-in-youth-football","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/12\/13\/mahama-should-invest-in-youth-football\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Mahama Should Invest In Youth Football&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Kwesi Appiah<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Executive Council Member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Appiah, has called on Ghana\u2019s President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, to invest in youth football for the future.<\/p>\n<p>The 66-year-old will assume power on January 7, 2025, after securing 56.55% of the valid votes cast in the December 7, 2024 general election.<\/p>\n<p>Appiah, speaking in an interview, congratulated the incoming president and appealed for an injection of funds at the grassroots level.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe [Mahama] should try to invest in the developmental level,\u201d Appiah, who now serves as the head coach of Sudan said.<\/p>\n<p>If we don\u2019t prioritise the future and only focus on the present, there will come a time when we won\u2019t have a future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think that is one of the nation\u2019s challenges right now, because we depend on what we currently have instead of thinking about who we are developing to take over.
