The result is a beach covered in trash, which, for many marginalized families, becomes an opportunity to seek out materials they can sell or repurpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.myjoyonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/7-1024x682.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10032656436\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Amid the debris, individuals can be seen with sacks, buckets, and improvised tools, sorting through the waste for plastics, metal scraps, or anything of value. For these communities, the dangerous and unsanitary conditions are an everyday reality. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhen the rains come, it\u2019s like a blessing and a curse. There\u2019s more waste to pick, but the waves are stronger and more dangerous,\u201d said a young scavenger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.myjoyonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/3-1-1024x682.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10032656432\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In one striking moment, captured on camera, a man is seen braving the spray of crashing waves, debris flying around him like projectiles.
