Having received 56.55% of the votes, Mahama&#8217;s return marks a significant comeback for the former president, who led the nation from 2012 to 2016 before losing his bid for re-election.<\/p>\n<p>Mahama, representing the National Democratic Congress (NDC), managed to collect 6,328,397 votes compared to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), who garnered 4,657,304 votes, which accounts for 41.61%.
