{"id":262688,"date":"2024-12-08T04:14:37","date_gmt":"2024-12-08T04:14:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/12\/08\/infiltration-of-party-supporters-at-collation-centres-delaying-collation-ec\/"},"modified":"2024-12-08T04:14:37","modified_gmt":"2024-12-08T04:14:37","slug":"infiltration-of-party-supporters-at-collation-centres-delaying-collation-ec","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/12\/08\/infiltration-of-party-supporters-at-collation-centres-delaying-collation-ec\/","title":{"rendered":"Infiltration of party supporters at collation centres delaying collation &#8211; EC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>By Edward Acquah<\/p>\n<p>Accra, Dec. 8, GNA- The Electoral Commission (EC) has expressed worry over what it described as the infiltration of collation centres by some party supporters.<\/p>\n<p>The Commission said its attention had been drawn to incidents of some party leaders urging their party supporters to throng collation centres.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing a press conference at the National Collation Centre Sunday dawn, Mr Samuel Tettey, Deputy EC Chair in Charge of Operations, said the situation was delaying the collation process.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe parties have the pink sheets so there is no need for supporters to go to the Collation Centres,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Tettey said at the Tano North Constituency in the Bono Region, some of the supporters had forced the Returning Officer to declare the results without due process.<\/p>\n<p>The Commission cautioned its officers that results declared without due process would not be recognised.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Tettey appealed to the leadership of the parties to withdraw their supporters from the collation centres.<\/p>\n<p>He also appealed to the Police to intervene in the situation to ensure a smooth collation process.<\/p>\n<p>GNA<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Edward Acquah Accra, Dec. 8, GNA- The Electoral Commission (EC) has expressed worry over what it described as the infiltration of collation centres by some party supporters.
