In order to improve healthcare delivery, the NPP government is working to increase access to the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) nationwide, which includes the groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday.

Speaking to the audience, Dr. Opoku Prempeh emphasized the importance of the initiative, pointing out that the new office will make it easier for Manhyia and the surrounding villages’ residents—particularly disadvantaged groups—to receive NHIS services, since they currently have to travel great distances. When finished, this structure will lessen the strain that locals in other areas face when trying to access NHIS services. Additionally, it will alleviate the strain on the surrounding insurance plans, improving the caliber of the work. With their NHIS cards, more residents will now be able to register and get medical treatment,” he stated.

In order to provide accessibility for everyone, Dr. Opoku Prempeh praised the traditional authorities for giving land for the project in a strategic location. Louisa Atta-Agyemang, the NHIA’s deputy chief executive officer, also spoke at the ceremony, highlighting how the project will enhance service delivery. “The citizens of this district will receive better service thanks to the new office, which will enable our service providers to carry out their responsibilities successfully and efficiently. We’re determined to take all the required steps to have this facility up and running and customer-focused,” she promised.

This blog is managed by the content creator and not GhanaWeb, its affiliates, or employees.
