However, in the more likely scenario in which the opposition takes control of the presidency and parliament, the new government will likely prioritize boosting the manufacturing sector and easing the pace of fiscal consolidation. Ghana will hold general elections on Dec. 7 to elect a new president and all 276 members of the country&#8217;s parliament. Lawmakers will be elected using a first-past-the-post voting system, but the presidential election will go to a runoff on Dec. 28 if no candidate secures more than 50% of the vote in the first round.
