{"id":258962,"date":"2024-12-01T20:41:50","date_gmt":"2024-12-01T20:41:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/12\/01\/napo-courts-muslims-for-votes\/"},"modified":"2024-12-01T20:41:50","modified_gmt":"2024-12-01T20:41:50","slug":"napo-courts-muslims-for-votes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2024\/12\/01\/napo-courts-muslims-for-votes\/","title":{"rendered":"Napo Courts Muslims For Votes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In a strategic move to win the hearts of Muslim voters, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Vice-Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has been actively engaging with Islamic clergy and communities across the country.<\/p>\n<p>His latest outreach effort took him to the Ashanti Region, where he reiterated his commitment to promo ting harmonious coexistence among Ghanaians, free from religious and ethnic divisions.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Opoku Prempeh, also known as Napo, has been a vocal advocate for Muslim rights and has consistently criticized the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for its alleged dislike for Muslims.<\/p>\n<p>During his recent campaign tour in the Savanna Region, Napo accused the NDC of removing Mohammed Muntaka and Haruna Iddrisu from leadership positions in Parliament because they are Muslims.<\/p>\n<p>Napo\u2019s comments have sparked controversy, with some critics accusing him of making divisive statements.<\/p>\n<p>However, he has maintained that his comments are aimed at exposing the NDC\u2019s alleged anti-Muslim sentiments.<\/p>\n<p>He has also criticized the NDC for pledging to build mortuaries in Muslim communities, which he sees as an affront to Muslim customs surrounding death and burial.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the controversy surrounding his comments, he remains committed to his message of unity and inclusivity.<\/p>\n<p>He has assured Muslim voters that the NPP is a party that values diversity and promotes equal opportunities for all Ghanaians, regardless of their religious or ethnic background.<\/p>\n<p>Napo reiterated his commitment to Dr. Bawumia\u2019s vision for a united Ghana, saying, \u201cA vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will ensure that Ghana stays united because he is an embodiment of same.
