Dr. John Osae-Kwapong, a Fellow at the Centre for Democratic Development (CDD), has called on political parties and stakeholders in the 2024 general elections to demonstrate a genuine commitment to peace through concrete actions, rather than relying solely on the symbolic signing of peace pacts.<\/p>\n
Speaking on The Big Issue<\/em> on Saturday, November 30, 2024, Dr Osae-Kwapong acknowledged the importance of peace pacts in fostering dialogue and promoting a culture of non-violence. However, he cautioned that such agreements, while critical, are not enough to ensure a tranquil electoral process.<\/p>\n \u201cThe signing of the peace pact, while it is extremely important, is not the only thing that gives the 100% firm assurance of peace on election day.
