Ghanaian actor Chris Attoh has responded to rumours claiming that he has been feigning a Western accent. <\/p>\n In an interview on Joy Prime on November 27, 2024, the seasoned actor explained that the accent some people are calling “fake” is actually a reflection of his professional journey and his efforts to represent Ghana on the global stage. <\/p>\n “What they\u2019re calling a fake accent is actually my way of representing Ghana to the world. When we were kids, our teachers would punish us for not speaking English clearly. And once you open your mouth, you tell the world who you are. <\/p>\n \u201cSo, it\u2019s not a bad thing to speak like an American or a Brit. In my case, as a Ghanaian working in Hollywood, I had to adapt. Sometimes it\u2019s difficult, but I have to push myself to get it right,” he stated. <\/p>\n Chris Attoh encouraged Ghanaians to embrace learning multiple accents, rather than sticking solely to the one they\u2019re most comfortable with. <\/p>\n “It may be hard at first, but you\u2019ll adapt over time.
