Ghana has seen a decline in the November 2024 FIFA rankings following the Black Stars\u2019 abysmal performance in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.<\/p>\n
In the October 2024 rankings, Ghana was ranked 73rd globally and 14th in Africa after recording mixed results during the international break.<\/p>\n
In the updated November 2024 FIFA rankings, Ghana dropped four places in the global rankings from 73rd to 77th. However, it maintained their 14th position on the African continent.<\/p>\n
Ghana are trailing countries like Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Mali, Tunisia, South Africa, DR Congo, Burkina Faso, and Cape Verde in the African rankings.<\/p>\n
During the November 2024 international break, the Black Stars drew 1-1 against Angola in an away game and suffered a 2-1 defeat to Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium.<\/p>\n
After six matches played in their qualifiers, Ghana lost three and drew three games, winning none.<\/p>\n
The team finished at the bottom of Group F with just three points, while Sudan and Angola qualified from the group.<\/p>\n
It marks the first time in 20 years that the Black Stars have not qualified for the AFCON.<\/p>\n
Ghana\u2019s low ranking is not astonishing, as the team has struggled in 2024, with their best position being 67th globally in February 2024.<\/p>\n
The next international break will be in March 2024, when the team will resume their 2026 World Cup qualifiers.<\/p>\n
