The Minister for Transport, Kwaku Asiamah Ofori, has said Ghanaians must recognise the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as the one who brought electric buses to Ghana.<\/p>\n According to him, Dr. Bawumia has achieved a milestone in ensuring that the EVs arrive in Ghana to ease Ghana’s transportation crisis; therefore, his credit should not be given to anyone else.<\/p>\n Speaking at the launch of the buses on November 27, 2024, he said, “There shouldn’t be any contention about who introduced electric vehicles.”<\/p>\n To address the country’s public transportation challenges coupled with traffic congestion in the capital, the Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, unveiled 100 electric buses for public transport.<\/p>\n According to him, the buses will help lower transport costs by up to 40 to 50 percent.<\/p>\n He said the buses are fuel and energy-efficient and will help the country protect itself from the rising cost of fuel on the international market.<\/p>\n The launch, a collaborative effort between Metro Mass Transit Limited (MMTL) and the Greater Accra Passenger Transport Executive (GAPTE), introduces electric buses as a cost-effective, eco-friendly alternative to conventional transportation.<\/p>\n SSD<\/p>\n Watch the minister below<\/b><\/p>\n![\"Dr.](\"https:\/\/cdn.ghanaweb.com\/imagelib\/pics\/834\/83437239.295.jpg\" "\\"Dr.")
