Bawumia’s policies, particularly his focus on training the youth in entrepreneurial and digital skills, are good. If you don’t want this, what do you want? Detractors argued that Mr. Kufuor’s status as a statesman required neutrality on election matters.

In a defiant response, Mr Kufuor defended his position during an event at the Ofori Panin Palace in the Abuakwa South constituency, where he was accompanied by NPP running mate Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh. He reiterated his belief in Dr Bawumia’s leadership capabilities and urged Ghanaians to support the NPP in the 2024 elections.

“I am facing criticism for voicing my opinions on national matters due to my position as a statesman. Experience and wisdom are often associated with age,” Mr. Kufuor remarked.

He further underscored his political allegiance and Dr Bawumia’s track record, stating:

“The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is my political affiliation, and it was through this party that I attained the presidency.
